The 8th International Gender and Language Association Conference will be held at the Simon Fraser University, Harbour Centre, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from June 5 – 7, 2014. Taking place for the first time in Canada, the conference will provide researchers worldwide with an opportunity to present their work and share ideas in the fields of language, gender, and sexuality. With the theme Shifting Visions: Gender, Sexuality, Discourse and Language, IGALA 8 aims to bring together scholars from diverse fields of knowledge as well as geographical regions who are interested in broadening and deepening our understanding of the complex relationships among language, gender and sexuality.
Though the submission deadline has passed, IGALA8 organizers are looking for discussants and session chairs. If you are attending IGALA8 or live in the Vancouver area and are interested in this opportunity, see http://www.igala8.com for more information about IGALA and/or email Allyson Jule at email@example.com
