What do you think? Gender in Teacher Education

In recent months some colleagues and I have been surveying the landscape of gender in teacher education across Canada and I have to say, the information is scarce. I know, or at least think I know, that there is work being done with gender in teacher education but given the dearth of information we found, I wanted to check with you about what is happening in your own institutions around gender and teacher education. Our main questions are:

  • How do issues of gender get taken up in your teacher education program
  • What is it that people think is being talked about when we discuss gender (gender issues in initial teacher education)?

You can respond in the comment section or send me an email response (ljstarr@uvic.ca). I am interested in what you have to say.
